Tiny Dog Leather Studio is a family-run labor of love, built by Mike Powl, Sr. and his daughter-in-law, Rubi Powl. What started as a small idea on a snowy family vacation in Estes Park back in 2018 has grown into a passionate craft—and a deeply personal mission.

Rubi and her husband Jeff’s oldest son, Jake, was born with Neurofibromatosis (NF), a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to form on nerve tissue. It affects 1 in 3,000 people, and for families like ours, it touches every part of life. For years, we poured our energy into supporting Cupid’s Undie Run and the Children’s Tumor Foundation, donating a portion of every purchase to help fuel research, better treatments, and—hopefully someday—a cure.

As Jake has grown, so have his medical needs. His treatments have become increasingly specialized and significantly more expensive. While our commitment to raising awareness for NF hasn’t changed, and we will always have a fundraising team with Cupid's Undie Run, our family’s needs have changed. Beginning this year, Tiny Dog Leather Studio will donate 20% of all proceeds directly toward Jake’s medical care to help ease the financial burden and ensure he continues receiving the treatment he needs.

Our products are handmade with 100% genuine leather, designed and crafted by Mike Sr., who has been working with leather since 1979, and by Rubi, whose graphic design background brings each piece to life. Every item is a collaboration of skill, creativity, and an immense amount of heart.
